Musselburgh racecourse
Six miles west of Edinburgh, the course is in the Millhill area of Musselburgh close to the River Esk. Originally known as Edinburgh Races, Musselburgh Racecourse hosts a total of 27 fixtures a year for Flat and Jump racing. Following a £5 million investment it now offers first class facilities for all racegoers and corporate guests. Their richest raceday of the year is our Edinburgh Cup Raceday featuring the £80,000 Edinburgh Cup in June
The Flat and Jumps tracks are about a mile and a quarter round and quite sharp. Historic Musselburgh has been a venue for horse racing since 1816, and has undergone a vast transformation in the past 15 years culminating in being awarded a 5 Star Visit Scotland Visitor Attraction status in December 2006, which it has held every year since.
