‘Main plan’ is Grand National bid for Traffic Fluide

Traffic Fluide is being aimed at the Grand National at Aintree

Gary Moore already has his eyes firmly fixed on the Grand National at Aintree with Traffic Fluide.

After rounding off last season with victories over hurdles at Plumpton and in the Silver Trophy at Cheltenham, the eight-year-old began the new campaign by finishing second behind The Young Master in a competitive handicap chase at Chepstow.

He went one better with a thrilling triumph over Art Mauresque in the Sodexo Gold Cup at Ascot a month ago – but is unlikely to be seen on a racecourse again until March of next year.

Moore said: “The main plan is still the Grand National and he won’t run until about a month before it.

“He’ll have an away day somewhere and we’ll just do whatever is right by the horse.

“He’s taken the race at Ascot very well. I’ve never trained one for the National before, but I do feel he is made for it.”

Traffic Fluide is a best-priced 50-1 for the Randox Health-sponsored showpiece on April 6.
