Road to Kentucky 'a little bit clearer' for Kempton winner Gronkowski

Gronkowski Jeremy Noseda has set his sights firmly on a Kentucky Derby challenge with Wednesday night's Kempton winner Gronkowski.
Named after New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, the Lonhro colt landed a conditions event that forms part ofthe European 'Road to the Kentucky Derby' with the leader at the end of the series securing a spot in the Classic on May 5, provided they have been nominated.
Noseda is now planning to turn his attentions towards America, with either the Wood Memorial at Aqueduct or the Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland, both on April 7, the possible targets pending discussions with Phoenix Thoroughbreds and CEO Amer Abdulaziz.
The Shalfleet handler tweeted: "Gronkowski has come out of last night's race well. The road to Kentucky and the first Saturday in May is a little bit clearer now. All being well, we'll head to the US next for either the Blue Grass or Wood Memorial."
