Jessica Harrington saddles Another Barney to victory at Naas

Another Barney wins at Naas Another Barney made a successful debut under rules in the INH Stallion Owners EBF Maiden Hurdle at Naas.
The winner of a Tralee point-to-point last May, Jessica Harrington's charge was second best in the market at 4-1 for this two-mile contest behind the heavily backed 8-11 favourite Grotesque.
Grotesque and Border Control battled for the lead racing down the back straight and it was the latter who jumped the better of the pair to give him the advantage early in the home straight.
However, all the whileRobbie Power was waiting in the wings aboard Another Barney and it was he who quickened up best to score by five and a half lengths.
Border Control comfortably beat Grotesque to the runner-up spot.
Harrington was saddling her first winner in a while, having failed to hit the target over the Christmas and new year period.
She said: "I've had more seconds in December than anything else. Maybe there wasn't that much wrong with the horses but they were just getting beaten.
"He showed what I thought he'd show. Kate (Harrington, daughter) was there when he got bought in Cheltenham. I don't go to the sales any longer.
"He's going to be a chaser and I think he'll appreciate a bit better ground in the spring. We'll see where we go with him now."
