Ballinrobe racecourse
The only racecourse in County Mayo, it is situated one mile from Ballinrobe town on the main Castlebar road which is 28 kilometres to the north while Galway is 50km south
The course itself is a slightly elevated, right-handed oval of about one mile and one furlong which features competitive flat and National Hunt racing. Ballinrobe has a very old tradition of racing in various forms with meetings recorded in 1774 and steeplechases included in the 1834 meeting. The present course was purchased in 1921 with facilities updated in 1998.
